After 32 years in financial services, and 3 redundancies in two years I was prompted to change direction while still doing what I love best, helping people.

9 years experience now in Estate Planning, mostly working for Solicitor Practices, but now running my own business since June 2018 and loving it !!

I suppose like everything else in life, things come full circle, so instead of helping people build their assets up for their family via financial planning, I am now helping them to protect those assets via Estate Planning.

Estate Planning, I hear you ask, what’s that? It still confuses people, some think it’s to do with new house builds, others a form of landscaping !!!!

Maybe a better expression is Later Life Planning, i.e. confronting the type of stuff that we all face as we get older, loss of mental capacity, ending up in care and our own demise.

Sounds depressing I know, but its encouraging people to talk about these issues openly and honestly that I enjoy, as it’s often been a concern to them for many years and I find it rewarding to be able to help them and give them peace of mind.

I have always put the customer at the centre of everything that I do, and it continues to be my focus even today.

My current business is that of a self employed Estate Planner, advising on Wills, Power of Attorney, Trusts.

I am an appointed representative of Legacy Planning Solutions who provide my processing and compliance support and who also provide me with £2.5 million pounds of indemnity cover.

In terms of timescale, I usually turn Wills and POAs around within 2 weeks, but can expedite these if required. Trusts usually take between 2 to 3 weeks to complete.

Appointments are set whenever they are needed by my clients and are usually set in their homes or other locations as required.

Boring personal stuff, married for 44 years, two Sons and two Grandchildren one to each Son.

Hobbies include metal detecting, fishing and on-line gaming.
